Bartlett School Board – Position 2
Corporate and Securities Project Assistant at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC

I am running for the Bartlett School Board because I care about the future of our children’s education. My husband and I moved to Bartlett more than three years ago from Utah, and much of the impetus for our cross-country move was to have a better chance for our three children to succeed within their school system. We searched for homes in the Memphis area and chose to live in Bartlett based, in large part, on the fact that it was an affordable, beautiful place to live within the Shelby County School District.

Beginning with the Memphis City School Board’s surrender of their charter, and all of the events that have taken place since (litigation, referendums, fiery “unified” board meetings, etc.), things are changing for the schools in Bartlett. I want to ensure that the quality of our school district remains at or above the standard that caused my family to choose Bartlett as our home initially. From the structuring and formation of the new district charter, to the search for an excellent superintendent, to the facilitation of the information exchange between parents, administrators and teachers of the district, my goal as a member of the Bartlett City Municipal School Board would be to implement a high-caliber school system which improves upon the one that the residents of Bartlett have come to expect.

We made a decision to be a part of this community, and we, along with our children, have a vested interest in helping make it a success. This is a new chance for Bartlett to make our city even stronger. I would be honored to receive your vote and I will strive to ensure that this district has the best possible start. Thank you for your consideration and your time.
