Former Bartlett School Board Elect

As a mother of two children in school, I decided to run for school board so I could be a part of and help shape the Bartlett schools into a school district we all can be proud of and to help our children get the education they deserve. I am willing to fight for the kids and for what’s best for Bartlett now and in the future. Parental involvement will be a key to our success. I encourage all parents to get involved at the schools and within the district levels. I have been fortunate enough to attend the Bartlett Citizens Police Academy , help serve many of you fine citizens at the Bartlett Firefighters Pancake Breakfast, dedicate my time to the Better Bartlett Schools Committee, where recently I was invited to and accepted to speaking at their “Get out and Vote Rally” held in June. Also back in 2012, I was asked by Mayor McDonald and I accepted to serve on the Bartlett Education Advisory Committee (BEAC). We have been working hard to get policies and procedures in place to recommend to the school board, to see that Bartlett will provide the best opportunities for the children attending our schools and that we are ready to hit the ground running for a 2014 school year. While serving on the committee I worked on many projects such, as the financial aspect of the district (i.e. Medical plans, revenues, expenses, software programs, etc.) and I also helped create a Policy Manual; I was in charge of comparing other school districts policies and creating the Student Services section of the manual. This is our chance to make something great not only for the city but for the children we will be educating, and the work that has been done and will be done gives me great confidence that Bartlett Schools will be one of the best school districts in the county and state. I will be financially sound and have a conservative approach to making good use of the taxpayers money. I have experience in business and in accounting and I will use this knowledge to keep a good sensible budget. I feel it is important to build relationships with the Alderman, the county and other municipal school boards, superintendents and most of all you the parents. This will provide numerous benefits and as a school board candidate I am very interested in what you hope to see happen in the new school district and open to any ideas you may have. I will continue to work hard to ensure excellence in Bartlett Schools. I truly am looking forward to serving this great city and schools. I would appreciate your support and vote on Nov. 7th.
